New Home Tour – Part 1

Welcome back to Home by Grace!

I never knew how stressful moving from one house to the next is (especially with a not even 1.5 year old just learning to walk) and you never realize how much junk you have until you move. It’s been a busy past few (or several) months.

We closed on our new home on Thursday, July 2nd of 2015. That Saturday, we left for vacation for a week so really didn’t do much until mid-July. After vacation, we cleaned the house and prepped for painting a few rooms – the two rooms we were planning to sleep in and living room were our priority to get us in. Since we were staying with my parents, we didn’t have to rush too much but also were excited to get in as soon as possible.

Here’s a tour of the house prior to moving in.

Exterior – front

This is our side door entrance. Pretty much the main one we use besides the garage. Straight ahead is an eat-in kitchen area. To the right is the kitchen and to the left is the staircase leading up to the master bedroom.

This is probably my favorite room in the house. I love natural light and the windows let in so much!

The family renting the house before we bought it was kind enough to let us store some of our larger pieces of furniture in one room. Here it is! 🙂

Home by Grace is moving!

Awhile back, I had mentioned we had big goals for 2015. Well, one of our goals was to sell our house… and we did! It was a great first home and we’ll miss the many memories we shared there but the timing seemed right to put it on the market to see what would happen. We had great success with over twenty showings the first weekend and six offers that same weekend.

I have been MIA for the past month and half to two months because I had to focus on getting the house ready for showings and then packing. Currently, our stuff is still in boxes and we are in the process of purchasing our next home which should allow me to share a lot more projects, so stay tuned! 🙂
